EVER WONDER AND STRUGGLED WITH THE QUESTION, ARE YOU AN ELECT? (Read it's fullness and Rejoice, Share this link for others to Rejoice and be blessed in The Lord.) I HAVE, AND I PRAYED FOR GUIDANCE. FIRST AND FOREMOST, GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT QUICKENS YOUR HEART ONTO REPENTANCE. IN THIS SINFUL FLESH, WE LIVE IN EMNITY AGAINST GOD. THERE IS NOTHING GOOD IN US TO BRING US HUMBLY TO HIS FEET. REPENTANCE IS A GIFT FROM GOD AND SO IS FAIFTH. THE MOMENT OF YOUR SALVATION, YOU ACCEPTED GOD AND BELIEVED. YOU HAVE FAITH, ALL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND THUS YOU ARE AN ELECT. REJOICE!!!!! PASTOR JOHN MACARTHUR STATES: "Look at the evidences of salvation. The direction of your life not the perfection of it. Do you love Christ, do you desire to Honor Christ, do you resent the sins that is in you, do you want to be with the people of God? Do you love the truth of scripture, do you love the word of God taught and understood, does it bring you joy and do you love to praise the Lord? Do you love to sing the hymns that exalt and Honor Him?" This are evidences of God the Holy Spirit quickening your heart and producing the eagerness to learn and worship, the willingness to follow and serve Him. The Lord, your God will give you a faith that prevails, and will be nurtured through the reading and understanding of true Bible doctrines, God the Holy Spirit inspired the Bible, and God the Holy Spirit is teaching me and will teach you. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matt11.29.ESV For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. Ps107.9.ESV Make a commitment to live according to the Truth. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom5.1.ESV God is your Strength. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Eph6.10.ESV It means He is on your side. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; Jam1.5.ESV Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Ps143.8.ESV. WELCOME HOME CHILDREN. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11.29.ESV Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude1.24.ESV May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2Pet1.2.ESV Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. Ps31.24.KJV Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Phil1.6.KJV Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you. 1Peter 5:7 Question: "How can I know if I am one of the elect?" Answer: While there are numerous ideas of precisely what election means in regards to salvation, the fact that believers are elect is indisputable (Romans 8:29-30; 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. Ephesians 1:4-5, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 1:11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, Thessalonians 1:4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, Simply put, the doctrine of election is that God chooses/determines/elects/predestines who will be saved. It is not within the scope of this article to determine how election works. Rather, the question at hand is “How can I know if I am one of the elect?” The answer is exceedingly simple: believe! The Bible nowhere instructs us to be concerned regarding our status of elect vs. non-elect. Rather, God calls us to believe, to receive Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith (John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.). If a person truly trusts in Jesus alone for salvation, that person is one of the elect. Whether belief secures election, or election causes belief – that is another debate. But what is sure that belief is evidence of election. No one can receive Jesus as Savior unless God draws him or her (John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.). God calls/draws those whom He has predestined/elected (Romans 8:29-30: 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified..) Saving faith is not possible without divine election. Therefore, saving faith is evidence of election. The idea of a person wanting to be saved but being unable to, due to not being one of the elect, is absolutely foreign to the Bible. No one seeks after God’s plan of salvation on their own accord (Romans 3:10-18). Those without Christ are blind to their need for salvation (2 Corinthians 4:4). This only changes when God begins drawing a person to Himself. It is God who opens eyes and enlightens minds to the need for Jesus Christ as Savior. A person cannot repent (change the mind about sin and the need for salvation) unless God grants repentance (Acts 11:18). Therefore, if you understand God’s plan of salvation, recognize your need for it, and feel compelled to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, then believe, and you are saved. If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, trusting Him alone for salvation, believing that His sacrifice is the full payment for your sins – congratulations, you are one of the elect. REJOICE IN THE FOLLOWING, NOW!!! Ephesians 2:19-22 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. God's kingdom is made up of the people from all-time will have trusted in him. There are no strangers, foreigners, or secondhand class-citizens there. (Phil. 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,) Redeemed sinners not only became heavenly citizens but also members of God's own family. The Father bestows, on believers the same love He gives his Son. Hebrew 3:5-6 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as a Son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. (Romans 11:29 ESV) For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 2Cor1.20.ESV Through our Lord Jesus, all the promises are fulfilled. REJOICE!!!! |
